LD Film Manufacturer in Delhi

LD Film (Low-Density Polyethylene Film) is a flexible, transparent, and heat-sealable packaging material known for its excellent clarity, softness, and moisture barrier properties. Derived from the simplest plastic polymer, it is widely used for producing bags, pouches, shrink wraps, and liners. LD Film is a cost-effective solution for protecting goods from dust and moisture while offering superior tear resistance and flexibility for everyday packaging needs.

LD Film (Low-Density Polyethylene) is a thermoplastic film made from the polymerization of ethylene gas under high temperature and pressure. This process creates a highly branched polymer structure, resulting in a material that is soft, flexible, and stretchable—distinct from the stiffer High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE). In the packaging industry, "LD Film" typically refers to LDPE or blends of LDPE with LLDPE to enhance strength.

Key Properties of LD Film: LD Film is prized for its unique combination of physical and chemical properties:

  • Clarity & Gloss: It offers good transparency, making it suitable for retail packaging where product visibility is required.

  • Heat Sealability: It has a low melting point (approx. 98–115°C) and excellent heat-sealing capabilities. It seals easily and maintains integrity even if the seal area is contaminated with dust or grease.

  • Moisture Barrier: It provides a very good barrier against water vapor, making it ideal for protecting dry goods like bakery items, frozen foods, and textiles from humidity.

  • Chemical Inertness: It is resistant to most acids, bases, and alcohols, ensuring the film does not react with the product or degrade easily.

  • Flexibility & Elasticity: It is soft and pliable. It also shrinks when heated, which is the principle behind LD shrink wrapping.

Type Short Form Content
LD Shrink Film Single-layer LDPE designed to shrink tightly around products when heat is applied. Used for bundling multiple items (like water bottles or cans) or wrapping trays. Thickness typically ranges from 45–75 microns. It provides a tamper-evident seal and protects against dust.
LD Stretch Wrap (Pallet Wrap) Thin (25–38 micron) LDPE or LLDPE film with high “cling” properties. Used to wrap and secure pallets of goods without heat. It is stretched tightly around the load to hold items in place during transit. One side is often treated to stick to itself but not the product.
Heavy Duty LD Sacks Thick gauge LDPE (0.03–0.15mm) or coextruded LDPE/MDPE sacks used as bin liners, industrial waste bags, or protective covers. Offers high penetration and tear strength for sharp or heavy waste.
LD Gusseted Tubing LD film extruded as a tube with folded (gusseted) edges. When opened, the gussets create a square bottom or flat lay-flat width. Used for producing T-shirt bags, wide liners for trash cans, or large sacks for bulky items.
Perforated LD Film LD film mechanically perforated with up to 80 holes per cm². Allows respiration for fresh produce (vegetables/fruits) and bakery products (prevents sogginess) while maintaining physical protection against dirt

Giriraj Flexipack is always known for its specialties in the industry. In terms of LD Films also, we are way ahead of others. With 5 automatic pouch making machines and advanced film extrusion capabilities, we deliver superior clarity, consistent gauge uniformity, and high-strength LD Films from our Delhi, India facility.

Our Specialties in LD Film:

  • Premium Raw Material Sourcing: We use virgin grade LDPE and LLDPE resins from certified petrochemical plants. This ensures our film is odor-free, non-toxic, and suitable for direct food contact applications.

  • Blown Film Extrusion Expertise: Utilizing state-of-the-art blown film lines, we produce LD film with balanced molecular orientation, resulting in a high-performance film that offers excellent tensile strength and impact resistance without compromising on softness and clarity.

  • Customized Formulations & Blends:

    • LDPE/LLDPE Blends: We expertly blend LDPE (for clarity and sealability) with LLDPE (for puncture resistance and strength). This provides a superior film for heavy-duty applications like frozen food packaging and liquid milk pouches.

    • Color Masterbatch: We incorporate color pigments directly into the extrusion process, offering film in custom colors (e.g., red for garbage bags, blue for medical waste, white for garment covers).

  • Precision Gauge Control: We utilize advanced thickness measurement systems to ensure the film gauge (thickness) remains consistent across the entire roll. This prevents weak spots and ensures reliable performance on automated filling lines.

  • Comprehensive Feature Integration:

    • Layflat Tubing: Custom widths and layflat dimensions.

    • Gusseted Film: For side gusseted bags and liners.

    • Perforation: Micro-perforations for fresh produce and bakery breathing.

    • Corona Treatment: Surface treatment to improve ink adhesion for surface printing (flexography).

  • Versatile Thickness Range: We manufacture LD film for light, medium, and heavy-duty applications:

    • 15 – 30 Microns: Lightweight produce bags, retail pouches.

    • 30 – 60 Microns: Grocery sacks, general purpose liners.

    • 60 – 120+ Microns: Heavy-duty sacks, industrial covers, shrink film.

  • High-Quality Finishes (Surface Properties):

    • Low Slip/Hold: For bags that need to stack securely on pallets.

    • High Slip/Easy Glide: For bags used in automatic packing machines where the pack needs to slide easily into a carton.

    • Anti-Static: Treatment to prevent dust attraction in electronics packaging.

  • Quality Assurance:

    • Gauge Consistency: ±5% thickness variation tolerance.

    • Tensile & Elongation Testing: Ensuring the film meets required MD (Machine Direction) and TD (Transverse Direction) strength standards.

    • Impact & Puncture Resistance: Testing to ensure resistance to tearing.
